16-year-old girl rescued from Gumte Village, Rilloh by Pakke Kessang Police

A 16-year-old girl, identified as Mini Munda, a resident of Gelahatinga village, Itakhola, Biswanath district, Assam, was rescued by Pakke Kessang Police on June 28.
She was rescued from Gumte village, Rilloh, Pakke Kessang on the same afternoon at around 3 pm after verbal information was received by Superintendent of Police (SP) Pakke Kessang from the Administrator of the Child Helpline (1098) WCD Control Room in Itanagar about a girl child in distress.
A team, consisting of Officer-in-Charge (OC) PS Pakke Kessang SI Tage Kapa, Constables Pagge Taluk and Tater Siga, Lady Constable Minam Tayeng, and District Child Protection Officer (CDPO) S.C. Tok, swiftly responded.
Upon inquiry, it was learned that the girl, along with her mother Gerwala Munda, had been brought to Gumte village, Rilloh in Pakke Kessang district 15 years ago. However, they were not allowed to leave.
The rescued girl has been handed over to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Pakke Kessang in the presence of her mother for counselling and necessary legal formalities.
