2 Teachers, Driver Injured After School Bus Caught in Landslide; DA Closed Jollang-Ganga Road

Two teachers and the driver of a school bus sustained minor injuries after the bus they were travelling in, along with five other passengers, was hit by a landslide on Richi-Jollang Road near the NES Secretariat around 3:15 PM on Saturday.
The school bus, from Sri Sri Ravi Shankar School, was carrying one student and a few staff members. Fortunately, there were no fatalities.
“ The District Administration, led by EAC Itanagar Takam Nicholas and DDMO Moromi Dodum Sonam, is closely monitoring the situation. The PWD is actively working to restore the road and has deployed two JCBs to extricate the bus, “ DA, ICR in a press release stated.
As a precautionary measure, the District Administration, ICR has issued an advisory for the closure of the road from Ganga to Jollang and vice versa.
DDMO Sonam informed that there were fortunately no casualties. However, two teachers and the driver sustained minor injuries.
The District Administration Capital Itanagar urges residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety and minimize risks associated with heavy rains and flooding.
