90’s Queens FC won the maiden Arunachal Dene Super League (ADSL) after defeating Donik FC 2–1 in a thrilling final held at Mesque FC Ground, Naharlagun, on Tuesday.

A total of 13 teams participated in the league. The highest scorer of the tournament was Bamang Ana, who netted six goals for her team.

Punam Donik, from DONIK Women FC, was awarded the Best Player of the Tournament, while Donik Rila, also from DONIK Women FC, was named Best Goalkeeper.

This sporting event was exclusively curated to encourage and recognize women who make sacrifices for the well-being of their families.

“The idea for ADSL came after observing my mother, wife, and other women in society who deserve recognition and encouragement. That’s when I started working on it with my Women Cell team,” said Taki Tamin, Chairman of ADSL, while speaking with AE.

Tamin said it wasn’t as easy as they initially thought, as most of the women were unemployed, untrained, and had responsibilities at home. “But gradually, 14 teams registered for ADSL and have been training hard for the past two months,” he added.

“It was amazing to watch them play on the ground. Our dream is to make ADSL a regular event in the sports calendar—just like other major sports—for our women. We believe the government will support us in the next edition as well,” Tamin said with hope.
