Tuting I Apr I 14 :

A coordination meeting focused on the long-standing demand for a separate district and MLA constituency for the Tuting Sub-Division was held on April 12 at the conference hall of the Bogun-Bokang Welfare Society (BBWS) office in Tuting. The meeting, initiated by BBWS, was chaired by its President, Kakit Duggong, and saw the participation of representatives from various community-based organizations (CBOs), public leaders, and senior citizens.

The key agenda centered on reiterating the demand for a new MLA constituency and district status for Tuting. The proposed constituency would cover areas from Mossing to Gelling on the right bank of the Siang River, and from Likor to Singa-Bishing on the left bank. To actively pursue this goal, the meeting proposed the formation of a committee comprising of public leaders, prominent citizen and representatives of all Societies under Tuting Sub-Division.

In a show of unity, the house also reaffirmed its support for the standing District Demand Committee, formed in 2018 under the leadership of Nima Sange. Additionally, a sub-committee based in Tuting will be constituted to coordinate and mobilize support for the cause.

Several other key developmental resolutions were adopted during the session. These included the immediate sanctioning of a DG Set Generator for the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Tuting and the urgent posting of two MBBS doctors (a gynecologist and an ENT specialist).

Regarding electricity, the house called for the early installation of the Kopu Hydel Project, which has seen delays despite a 500KW (250+250) fund being sanctioned in January 2023. The house urged immediate follow-up for the early release of the sanctioned funds and installation . Additionally, a new hydropower project at Arpong Nallah in Ngaming Village was proposed.

In the education sector, the house demanded the reopening of the defunct Science stream at the Government Higher Secondary School, Tuting, which has remained non-functional due to the absence of Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs). It also resolved to pursue the posting of PGTs and the establishment of a mini-auditorium at the town’s secondary school.

Road connectivity was another major focus, with the house appealing for the early completion of the Zido–Palling PMGSY road and better maintenance of the ongoing Moying–Tuting highway construction.

Other demands included regular checks of Inner Line Permits (ILPs), improved air connectivity through more frequent Pawan Hans sorties, and the re-submission of a fresh memorandum for the establishment of a Community Development Block Office at Migging, which remains one of the long-pending demands of the people of Migging.

Furthermore, a resolution was adopted that Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) under the Tuting Sub-Division should actively monitor all developmental activities in Tuting and their respective areas. This is to ensure proper utilization of funds, timely completion of projects, and maintenance of quality standards.

All CBOs are also encouraged to address and resolve any inter-village conflicts to foster peace and harmony within the society.

The representatives of CBOs attended the meeting included the Bogun-Bokang Welfare Society (BBWS), Nigong Boying Banggo Kebang (NBBK), Chime Yangsang Pema Kod Welfare Society (CYPWS), Idu-Mishmi Welfare Society (IMWS), Tangam Welfare Society (TWS), and the Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society (APWWS), Tuting Branch.
