6,000 Rainbow Trout Released as Part of River Ranching & Fish Seed Distribution Program in Lamang

The Department of Fisheries, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, in collaboration with the Indian Army, organized a river ranching program and free fish seed distribution at Govt. Trout Farm Mechuka, benefiting fish farmers of Shi-Yomi District.
6,000 Rainbow Trout fingerlings released into the river at Lamang, near the India-China border during the program which aimed to enhance fisheries resources, promote sustainable livelihoods, and support the local ecosystem.

Joyshil Taba, Director of Fisheries, Major Himat Singh 13 Granadiar and Major Viplam 22 Sikh Regiment; and other officials, along with local fish farmers attended the program.
The river ranching program promotes sustainable fisheries management, food security, and community support,” said Shri Joyshil Taba.
The Indian Army appreciated the initiative, and the Department of Fisheries plans to continue such programs, promoting fisheries development and community well-being.
