The third batch of trainees under the “Catch Them Young” initiative was felicitated with certificates of completion during a valedictory function held at the Directorate of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary & Dairy Development, Nirjuli. The initiative aims to skill and empower youth from across Arunachal Pradesh in the field of animal husbandry and dairy development.

Speaking as Chief Guest, Secretary of Animal Husbandry & Dairy Development, Hage Tari, lauded the initiative led by Minister Gabriel D. Wangsu, noting its growing impact. He emphasised that with three batches already trained and two more in the pipeline, the programme is equipping youth to take advantage of various central and state government schemes in the dairy sector.

“The aim is to train five youths from each district and certify them so they are ready to benefit from upcoming government schemes. This short-term training will yield results beyond expectations,” Tari said. He further encouraged the trainees to utilize the skills learned and become self-employed, as government jobs are limited.

Highlighting the state government’s vision under Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Tari shared that each district has been assigned a mentor secretary to ensure better monitoring and implementation of development schemes.

The Secretary also underlined the importance of dairy development under the CM White Revolution initiative, stressing the need to boost milk production. He encouraged the trained youths to join cooperative movements and make use of available schemes and technical guidance.

“Don’t just stop here. Be sincere, hardworking, and aim to become job providers, not job seekers,” he concluded.

Director of AH, Vety & Dairy Development, Dr. Danjan Longri, congratulated the trainees and expressed hope that the knowledge and skills acquired would help them establish successful dairy farms. He acknowledged the efforts of mentors, resource persons, and officers involved in the programme, and noted that this initiative would significantly contribute to promoting dairy farming in Arunachal Pradesh.

He added that two batches of piggery and dairy training had already been completed successfully, and the remaining two are expected to follow suit.

The function was attended by Nodal Officer Dr. N. Taipodia, Joint Directors, Deputy Directors, senior officers, farm managers, and other staff members of the department.
