2 Inter-State Drug Peddlers Arrested, Police Seize 348.58 gms Heroin Worth 42 Lakh

Two inter-state drug peddlers were arrested by the capital police and seized 348.58 grams of heroin worth Rs 42 lacs from their possession.
On May 31, information was received from a reliable source that a male individual named Urgen Dorjee (23), a resident of Lower Chimpu, Itanagar, was suspected of peddling heroin in the Itanagar Capital Region.
Subsequently, a raid was conducted, and Dorjee was found to be in possession of 65 grams of suspected heroin. A case was registered under ITA/PS/CASE NO.94/24 U/S 21(b) NDPS Act, and he was remanded to police custody for 4 days.
During interrogation, he revealed that a Manipuri youth named Tithai Pou Golmei (28) had supplied the drugs from Imphal. He mentioned that Golmei, a regular supplier of drugs, would arrive in Itanagar by bus with more drugs on June 2.
On June 2, a trap was laid, and the police intercepted and apprehended Tithai Pou Golmei near the entry gate of DNGC, Itanagar. Upon searching him, 283.58 grams of suspected heroin were seized from his possession.
Tithai Pou was arrested, and a subsequent case was registered under ITA/PS CASE NO. 95/24 U/S 21(b)/27A/29 NDPS Act.
Both accused, Urgen Dorjee and Tithai Pou Golmei, are habitual inter-state drug smugglers.
