Cap Pol Organize Sports Events to Mark Intl. Day Against Drug Abuse

The Capital Police, as part of a week-long initiative to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, organized a series of sports events for individuals currently undergoing rehabilitation on Saturday.
An outdoor session held at the 1st AAPBn ground in Chimpu on Saturday saw the participation of 36 men and 1 woman who are victims of drug abuse and undergoing rehabilitation
The program included a 100-meter sprint, a tug-of-war competition, and a 1650-meter race, followed by a breakfast for the participants.
The participants also shared their experience on the day. The Capital Police held this initiative to build rapport with the community and break away from the narrative of the war on drugs, adopting a more victim-centric approach
