AEDMA-New IPR Minister Meet Discusses Ad Policy & Challenges Faced by Digital Media Houses

ITANAGAR I Jun I 25 :

A delegation from the Arunachal Electronic and Digital Media Association (AEDMA) met with the newly inducted Minister for Information & Public Relations, Nyato Dukam, at his office chamber in the civil secretariat on Tuesday.

The delegation was led by Vice President Jack Tayeng and General Secretary Sangge Droma.

The delegation discussed with the minister the digital media advertisement policies & empanelment , and the challenges faced by digital media houses due to a lack of systematic revenue generation

The visiting team also congratulated Dukam on his induction as IPR minister and felicitated him.

During the meeting, Vice President Jack Tayeng emphasized the crucial role of digital media in disseminating information and raising awareness within society.
He also highlighted AEDMA’s potential collaboration with the Department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) to ensure that government schemes and policies reach those who need them. Tayeng pointed out that many people miss out on government benefits due to a lack of proper information.

He highlighted AEDMA’s role as a bridge between society and the government, facilitating public welfare in the digital age.

General Secretary Sangge Droma briefed the Minister on the challenges faced by digital media houses, particularly the lack of systematic revenue generation.

She informed him that while AEDMA’s members not only runs media houses but also provides jobs for many youths, the absence of proper revenue sometimes hampers their ability to offer necessary services.

While submitting a representation, Droma urged the Minister to ensure the implementation of advertisement policies, proper empanelment of media houses as per established norms, and other necessary measures to support the industry.

Minister Nyato Dukam listened attentively to their concerns and assured the delegation of his full support for the growth of media houses.

He informed them that a Board would soon be created for the proper empanelment of media houses, in consultation with related officials and AEDMA members.

Additionally, he requested media organizations to act as watchdogs of society and to disseminate genuine and unbiased information.

The delegation included AEDMA Convenor Yasum Sonam, Auditor Shambo Flago, members Nipjyoti Kalita, Sandeep Kumar, Bittu Borah, and Office Secretary Agam Dui.
