IFCRA’s AP Summer Expedition Car Rally Concludes Epic 9-Day Adventure

The IFCRA’s Arunachal Pradesh Summer Expedition – Car Rally 2024, which began its adrenaline-filled journey on July 2 from Shergaon in West Kameng District, successfully concluded its 9-day journey exploring the rich diversity and mesmerizing landscapes on July 10 at Namsai.

The rally was organized by the International Friendship Car Rally Association (IFCRA) in collaboration with the Department of Youth Affairs, and sponsored by Toyota.

The rally aimed to promote tourism in the unexplored regions of Arunachal Pradesh. Participants from different Indian states, including Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, and West Bengal, joined this adventurous event.
The rally was inaugurated with a grand ceremony in Shergaon, which featured speeches from dignitaries and cultural performances.
From Pakke-Kesang, participants were flagged off towards Ziro where the newly launched Toyota car- Taisor, joined the rally .
The journey through Ziro from Pakke-Kesang included a visit to the Nara Abba Wine Factory in Ziro, where they interacted with the staff and proprietor.
The rally’s next stop at Raga in Kamle District featured trekking to a newly discovered majestic waterfall, a cleanliness drive, and an interaction program with locals.
Before reaching the next destination in Aalo, participants travelled through the land of the Tagin people in Daporijo, overcoming three road blockages caused by incessant rainfall along the way.

The teams then proceeded to Aalo and reached Roing on the same day. Later, the IFCRA team headed to Miao in Changlang District, visiting both the Pangsau Pass and Balingaon Model Village, and promoted the rally’s motto.

The visit to Pangsau Pass was memorable for all participants as it was a crucial route during World War II, known as the “Hell Pass” for its challenging terrain and strategic importance.

In Bordumsa, participants attended a tea ceremony hosted by the local youth, who showcased their cultural dances, highlighting the region’s cultural rich heritage .

At Balingaon Model Village, participants were welcomed by the Baptist Church youth. The village showcased a positive rural planning system, and the IFCRA team donated one lakh rupees to support local development.

During their visit to Changlang District, including Miao, participants observed that the Church Association youths are extensively smart and productive, contributing significantly to the region’s development.

In Miao, participants visited the Kharsang Tea Factory and explored different villages, learning about local tea production and village life.
The rally concluded with a visit to the Golden Pagoda in Namsai, marking the end of a successful and enriching 9-day expedition.
