Blood Donation Camp Commemorates Irabot’s 128th Birth Anniversary
ITANAGAR I Sep I 30 :
A voluntary blood donation camp was held at RamaKrishna Mission Hospital, Itanagar, on September 30 to commemorate the 128th Birth Anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot of Manipur, a respected Manipuri freedom warrior, social reformer, and political visionary.
About 50 volunteers, including personnel from NDRF Doimukh, ITBP Yupia, and members of the Nerist Manipuri Students Union, came forward to donate.
The donation camp was organized by the Manipuri Welfare Society of Arunachal Pradesh, in partnership with R K Mission Hospital, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. In addition to paying homage to his unwavering pursuit of social justice and equality, the blood donation camp encouraged community service.
At the event’s opening, L. Sokun Singh, President, MWSAP honoured Lamyanba Hijam Irabot and emphasised his continuing impact on Manipur’s socio-political environment. Generations after generation are inspired by Lamyanba Hijam Irabot contributions to our society.
“ We can all learn from his unwavering fight for freedom and his dedication to helping the oppressed,” stated Sokun.
M Shamjit Singh Senior Vice President President, MWSAPfurther underlined the significance of blood donation as a selfless deed that immediately saves lives, which aligns with Irabot principles of community service.
The blood units collected will be donated to R.K. Mission Hospital.
