IPR Minister Visits Pasighat Press Club, Assures Funds for Building Renovation

PASIGHAT I Dec I 10: 

State’s Information, Public Relation & Printing Minister, Nyato Dukam who was on his two day visit to East Siang District to take stock of various industry and textile related factories and ventures from 9th to 10th December, today inspected the office building of Pasighat Press Club (PPC) near the NCC office at Gumin Nagar, 2 Mile, Pasighat on the request of PPC office bearers who called on the minister at Siang Guest house to apprise about the dilapidated condition of the PPC office building allotted by the district administration.

Dukam was accompanied by local MLA 38th Pasighat East, Tapi Darang, MLA 20th Tali, Advisor Power to Dy. CM, Jikke Tako Taniu, Dy. Commissioner, Pasighat, Tayi Taggu, Supt. of Police, Pankaj Lambo, Tore Ete, District Labour Officer and host of other HoDs and officials.

After visiting the dilapidated office building of labour department that was allotted to the Pasighat Press Club by the district administration on the request of Pasighat Press Club with the support of Arunachal Press Club, Dukam said that the office building is really under dilapidated condition and need renovation without which functioning of any office is not possible.

After the ground verification of the building by the minister himself, he assured to sanction immediate funds under the untied fund and MLA LAD fund through DC Pasighat and MLA 38th Pasighat East. “Press fraternity based in the district and its surrounding/neighbouring districts genuinely need a press club here not only for the welfare of the journalists, but also for the convenience of the general public for any press conference related matter. I have personally seen the ground situation and I will do every needful to help the PPC”, added Dukam.

Earlier, the team PPC led by its President, Maksam Tayeng and IPR Secretary, Toram Melong called on the Minister at Siang Guest house while submitting a memorandum for renovation of the PPC office which is under dilapidated condition.
Besides seeking assistance for renovation of the PPC office, the press fraternity team also urged the minister to allot the additional building located just beside the designated PPC office, because without that additional building there will be huge congestion for parking etc.

On behalf of Pasighat Press Club, President, Maksam Tayeng extended his thankfulness to the Minister for extending his prompt support and for visiting the office and its premises with short appeal.

Tayeng also extended his thankfulness to the DC Pasighat, Tayi Taggu and District Labour Officer, Tore Ete for their support to the PPC in allotting an office building which will be used by the press fraternity for certain period till a designated office building of PPC will not be ready.
