Oying Paron Bags 3rd Place in Themed Cupcakes Category at Cake Accord 2024

Oying Paron (Cakebaked_Yumms) from Pasighat, East Siang District, bagged 3rd place in the ‘Themed Cupcakes’ category at the recently concluded Cake Accord 2024.
Paron impressed judges and attendees alike, showcasing her talent and innovative cake design. There were over 50 entries across 7 different categories.
The Cake Accord 2024, Northeast India’s first grand cake fest, concluded on December 7 at Montana Vista, Uttarayon, Siliguri, with a dazzling display of talent and creativity.
Organized by Homebaker in partnership with the Cake Theory, this landmark event aimed to provide a platform for bakers from across the Northeast while also encouraging rural communities to embrace baking as a skill for self-reliance and employment.
Rinchen Yolmo, a celebrated home baker from Darjeeling and one of the event organizers, played a pivotal role in bringing The Cake Accord to life.
The judging panel featured eminent names from the baking industry, including Head Judge Michelle Salam (Manipur), Sweta Dalmia (Kolkata), Sonali Mitra (Hyderabad), Aashu Shah (Hyderabad), Antony Bidesh (Tirupati), and Lenin Kumar (Bangalore), who provided valuable insights and guidance to participants.
The event was supported by notable sponsors such as Sugal Foods, Ossoro, Glenary’s, Bakersville, Tropolite, Decible Events, Magic Colours, and others whose contributions made the fest a grand success.
The Cake Accord’s core mission was to inspire individuals from rural and urban areas to view baking not just as a passion but as a viable business opportunity. It sought to empower individuals, especially women and youth, with skills that could lead to self-reliance and open up avenues for employment.
