Operation Dawn: Pasighat Police Bust Major Drug Peddling Ring, Apprehend Several

PASIGHAT I Dec I 23 :
As part of the ongoing “Operation Dawn” against the drug menace, Pasighat police have successfully apprehended several individuals linked to drug peddling.
On December 22, reliable sources informed the police about a drug delivery within Pasighat town.
In response, a team was formed under the leadership of Inspector Ige Lollen, ASI R. Lowang, L/ASI N. Bagra, HC T. Lama, HC T. Kampong, and L/Ct. P. Wangpan, supervised by Ayup Boko APPS, SDPO Pasighat, and under directions by Pankaj Lamba, IPS, SP East Siang.
The team coordinated with the Anti-Drugs squad to lay a trap. They successfully apprehended the suspected peddler, identified as Marshal Yomso of Balek Sibo, Pasighat.
In the presence of an Executive Magistrate, a personal search of Yomso recovered 2 syringes, a large orange tobacco container with 14.72 grams of an orange-white powdery substance suspected to be heroin, and a transparent vial containing 1.35 grams of a similar substance.
Upon further interrogation, Yomso disclosed that the heroin was purchased from Nung Padung of Korang village, Ruksin. He was instructed to contact Nung Padung for more heroin delivery at Gumin Nagar.
Later, the team apprehended Nung Padung at Gumin Nagar, Pasighat.
A search of Padung, in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, revealed a pink tobacco container with 8.45 grams of suspected heroin and a mobile phone
Further interrogation revealed that the heroin was supplied to Padung by Yatin Pajing Tali of Gumin Nagar, Pasighat to be sold to Yomso.
A case has been registered at Pasighat Police Station under Psgt PS C/No 150/2024 U/S 21(b) of the NDPS Act, 1995 in connection with the case .
Meanwhile SP East Siang Pankaj Lamba, IPS, appreciated the cooperation from the Anti-Drug Squad and urged the public and well-wishers to provide information about drug peddlers or users without hesitation to help realize the goal of a drug-free East Siang.
