Akashvani Itanagar Celebrates International Women’s Day with Enthusiasm

ITANAGAR I Mar I 8 :

Joining the global celebration, Akashvani Itanagar marked International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm at its office premises on Friday. 

The event witnessed active participation from the entire staff, with a special focus on honoring the contributions of women employees. 

 Chief Guest of the function, Gumpi Nguso, Hindi Officer at Rajiv Gandhi University, in her address, underscored the immense contributions of women across various fields and the pressing need to foster gender equality in society. 

 N. Ramanjanappa, Head of Office, Akashvani Itanagar, also spoke on the occasion, recognizing the indispensable role of women in shaping families, workplaces, and the nation. 

Adding to the discourse, Deepak Kumar, Deputy Director (News), emphasized the importance of equal opportunities and the need to acknowledge and celebrate women’s achievements.

 A key highlight of the event was the felicitation of two outstanding women achievers for their exceptional contributions in their respective fields. 

Kempi Pakam, State Training Commissioner (Scouts and Guides) and a recipient of the President’s Award, was honored for her unwavering commitment to youth leadership and social service. 

 Dr. Krishna Chowlu, a distinguished scientist at the Botanical Survey of India, Itanagar, was recognized for her invaluable research in botany and environmental conservation.

 The celebration also included the recognition of outstanding office staff for their dedication and performance. 

The event concluded with a renewed commitment to fostering an inclusive and empowering workplace where women’s contributions are celebrated and encouraged.
