AI-Driven Healthcare Solutions Launched to Enhance Healthcare Delivery in the State

The National Health Mission (NHM) Arunachal Pradesh, in collaboration with Wadhwani AI, hosted an event to launch AI-driven healthcare solutions at Hotel Golden Orchid, Naharlagun on 3 April 2025. This initiative is set to significantly enhance healthcare delivery across the state of Arunachal Pradesh.

Marge Sora (APCS), Mission Director, National Health Mission, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh In his address, underscored the importance of adopting innovative “Artificial Intelligence” solutions to improve healthcare service delivery.

Also in attendance were Dr. Moji Jini, Director TRIHMS, State Nodal Officers of NHM and Consultants from NHM. 

Dr. Neeraj Agarwal, Chief Program Officer of Wadhwani AI, reiterated their commitment to strengthening healthcare systems in Arunachal Pradesh. He emphasized that the use of AI for predictive insights and efficient diagnostics could revolutionize healthcare services in the region.

The event brought together government officials, healthcare professionals from five districts and Wadhwani AI representatives to discuss how technology could address critical healthcare challenges. The focus was on enhancing early diagnosis, timely referral, implementing data-driven healthcare management, and improving accessibility, especially in rural areas.

The AI-driven solutions that were launched has been planned to be deployed initially in five selected districts – Papumpare, Longding, Tirap, Namsai and West Siang as part of the first phase. AI solutions on TB are Vulnerability Mapping for TB (VMTB), Prediction of Adverse TB Outcome (PATO), and Cough Against TB (CAT) for improved early Screening, diagnosis and management of Tuberculosis. Diabetic Retinopathy Screening, AI-powered early detection tool, crucial in areas lacking specialist care. NBA Solutions predict the Anthropometric Measurements among newborn and enable ASHA to monitor the growth during Home Based Newborn Care visit. 

This initiative reaffirms Arunachal Pradesh’s dedication to using Artificial Intelligence for enhanced healthcare outcomes, prioritizing accessibility, efficiency, and quality care.

As Arunachal Pradesh progresses towards technologically advanced healthcare, stakeholders remain optimistic that these AI solutions will fundamentally transform healthcare delivery, particularly in the state’s remote and tribal areas.
