Department of Post releases special cover on Gapé Galé during SOLUNGPEX-2024

ITANAGAR I Aug I 31,2024 :

A special cover on GAPÉ GALÉ was released by the Department of Post: India on the occasion of Solung festival on 30.08.24. Padma Shree Mamang Dai attended the function as the Chief Guest who also inaugurated SOLUNGPEX-24,a district level Philatelic exhibition cum Seminar at Solung Mopin Ground ,Itanagar.

SOLUNGPEX- 2024 was named to commemorate Solung festival which is celebrated widely celebrated across the state of Arunachal Pradesh . Speaking on the occasion , the Chief Guest of the function mentioned the values of the hobby of stamp collection . She also recollected the memories of her childhood collecting stamps from the letters received in olden days. Biswajit Chakraborty,Supt of Posts welcomed everyone in the function and also encouraged the students to take up this hobby and to open PDA accounts. He also highlighted different schemes of postal department. Many dignitaries were present during the function. The function was followed by a Drawing competition where almost 100 students participated.
