DNGC Honors Outstanding Alumni & Achievers at Grand 46th Foundation Day Celebration.

Commemorating its 46th year of existence, Dera Natung Government College (DNGC), Itanagar, observed its 46th Foundation Day cum Felicitation of Outstanding Alumni & Outstanding Achievers in a grand ceremony held in the college auditorium.

This marked a historic milestone for DNGC, as it was the first time the college had organized such a large-scale celebration, drawing the participation of approximately 500 people.

Hayeng Mangfi, MLA cum Advisor to the Minister of Water Resources, attended as the chief guest, while Dr. Joram Begi, former Chief Information Commissioner of GoAP, graced the occasion as the guest of honor. Dr. M.Q. Khan, Principal of DNGC, was also present.

The college honored 14 Outstanding Alumni who have made significant contributions to the state and nation in various fields, as well as 20 Outstanding Achievers (current DNGC students) who excelled in Games & Sports at National & International levels during the 2023-24 session.

Among the Outstanding Alumni felicitated were Komkar Dulom (Director, Disaster Management), Vijay Sonam (Social activist/Public Leader), Ramesh Jeke (Social Activist), Safar Pao (social worker), Amar Sangno (President, Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists), Sangha Babu (Jt. Director Planning), Bamang Taniang (Entrepreneur & former General Secretary), Tagit Sorang (Everester), Shri Gumko Tako (BDO), Ms. Bompi Gapak (1st class Judicial Magistrate, ZPM), and others.

Outstanding student-achievers recognized for their international and national-level medal wins included Lumter Uli (Gold medal, Taekwondo), Muskan Manyu (Bronze medal, Taekwondo), Radha Bangsia (Gold medal, Taekwondo), Gyaniyu Amonth (Football), Papung Bado (Bronze medal, football), Kina Sipa (Gold, Karate), Gyamar Kana (Bronze, Wushu), Tang Ama (silver, Wushu), Bake Tarium (Bronze- Karate), Adam Langkung (silver, Ju- Jitsu), Dugi Lulu, Chow Sumetha Langkan, Pomen Teppa, Guruk Purdung, Bengia Ruktung, Choki Sumnia, Tarh Mangsa, Lindum Tata, Jikke Yasika, Nang Khemawati Manang, and others.

On August 6, 2023, a similar event was held where 300 Outstanding Alumni were felicitated. The program was graced by Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Mayor Tamme Phassang. Those outstanding alumni who missed last year’s event were honored this time.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Hayeng Mangfi emphasized the importance of PAN Arunachal as the only way to bring the state to a higher level of development. He strongly advised the people to refrain from clan and community-based politics.

Guest of Honor Dr. Joram Begi, former Chief Information Commissioner and the pioneer and founder principal of DNGC, shared his nostalgic experiences from the college’s establishment in 1979 with only a night shift to its transformation into a fully-fledged institution.

DNGC Principal Dr. M.Q. Khan highlighted the main objectives of the event and presented a brief profile of the college. He informed that DNGC, a prestigious institute of the state, has produced over 50,000 alumni, including thousands of officers, public leaders, social activists, media persons, lawyers, and advocates.

The event was attended by teaching and non-teaching staff, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, and DNGC students.
