DNGC Organizes Orientation-cum-Felicitation Programme

Dera Natung Government College Itanagar organized an Orientation-cum-Felicitation Programme for the 1st Semester Students of BA, BSc, and BCom and felicitated the toppers of the RGU Examination held in May-June, 2024.
Principal’s Merit Awards were given to 37 toppers from all subjects who earned top ten positions overall and within their subjects in the RGU examination.
The orientation-cum-induction programme was divided into three sessions. The first session was meant for fresh students of Political Science, Hindi, Geography, and Economics. Dr. M.Q. Khan, Principal of Dera Natung Government College Itanagar, graced the first session.
Speaking on the programme’s objectives, he said, “Felicitation to the RGU toppers and departmental toppers will not only motivate them to perform even better in the future but more importantly will inspire the fresh students of the college to excel in their examinations and emerge as toppers and successful in the subsequent years.”
He congratulated the toppers and expressed happiness in sharing that the highest number of students from the college won top ten positions. The three departmental college toppers are Riya Sanchita (BA – Anthropology), Simran Jaboju (BSc – Zoology and Anu Naksang (BCom).
At the end of the sessions, students enthusiastically asked many questions to clear their confusions and doubts, which were effectively responded to by the Principal and the concerned Heads of Departments.
The participants in the first session were from Hindi, Economics, Geography, and Political Science. The second session included participants from History, English, Education, and Anthropology Departments, while students from all Science and Commerce departments participated in the third session.
The college Librarian also elaborated on how to use the library for optimal benefits and explained the library’s rules and regulations. The Orientation-cum-Induction programme was a grand success with the participation of over 900 students and all the concerned Heads of Departments in each of the three sessions.
