Field Level Financial Literacy Camp held in Basar
Basar I Dec I 20 :
Reserve Bank of India, Itanagar conducted a Field Level Financial Literacy Camp in collaboration with CRISIL FOUNDATION’s Centre for Financial Literacy, Basar Leparada district. The program was graced by Deputy Commissioner of Basar Leparada district Atul Tayeng as the chief guest of the event. The DC was also accompanied by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Basar Leparad district, Denim Boje as the guest of honour.
Various bank officials from SBI, PNB and APRB attended the program. The program also observed participation from LDMs, ArSrlm and Crisil Foundation. A total of 120 women participants from across 50 Self Help Groups from Basarparticipated in the event.
Deputy Commissioner Atul Tayeng in his address reiterated saying Financial literary is much needed at the hour. He asked the participants to participated in the program wholeheartedly and appealed the gathering to utilize the event for one’s own benefit and information. He requested the people to ask questions regarding any queries they have related to banking and insurance schemes and avail full benefit of the event.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Basar, Leparada district Denim Boje also while addressing the gathering of people informed them about the cases of fraudulent activities happening in the district. He requested the public to be vigilant and alert regarding online and offline frauds which is slowly rising in the Arunachal Pradesh.
He appealed the public of Basar to think and be informed before investing in any kind of schemes and services in order to protect oneself from scams.
During the technical session of the program, topics discussed by rbi officials were on financial literacy and financial Inclusion towards the masses of Leparada dist. Focus on “Overwiew of Reserve Bank of India, Basics on Money and currency, Digital payments and Integrated ombudsmen schemes” were also included. ArsRlm Basar during one session spoke of the importance of Insurance schemes for the public. Many queries were addressed during the open house session in which the banking related questions were cleared by the speakers. The program concluded successfully with grace and a vote of thanks.
