ILP checking drive detects over 500 illegal migrants in Upper Siang
Maryang I July I 21 :
Over 500 illegal migrants were found without a valid Inner Line Permit (ILP) during a recent day-long checking drive conducted in Mariyang, Yingkiong Township, and Janbo Village.
The drive was conducted by the All Upper Siang District Students Union (AUSDU) in collaboration with the district police.
All the migrants without ILPs were handed over to the police for deportation out of the district.
In the meantime , the union has appealed Upper Siang administration to conduct regular ILP checking to check influx of immigrations.
It also urged the contractors, to bring labourers with proper ILPs inside the district.
“ The Union will continuously check the inner line permit (ILP) in the upper Siang district ,” it stated in a press release.
The AUSDSU ILP checking team was led by Rumbo Apang (Vice President) and included Rajesh Paron (Spokesperson), Kamin Ejing (Social Service Secretary), and Makyem Tagi (Secretary of Law and Justice).
