NE Girls Scammed in Fake Cabin Crew Recruitment; Many Victims from Saint Claret Ziro
Delhi/Itanagar I Jun I 3 :
Dreams of becoming cabin crew turned into nightmares for many young women from the Northeast after falling victim to a recruitment scam.
Many victims were reportedly from the prestigious Saint Claret College in Ziro, who were defrauded by a fake recruitment agency.
The scam surfaced when the victims sought help from IPS officer Robin Hibu.
In a social media post, Hibu revealed that the victims had approached him to recover money paid in installments for promised jobs.
He stated that when contacted Indigo Airlines’ Vice President in Delhi and HR Chief Rakesh Prasad, he learned they were unaware of any such recruitment drive and confirmed that the airline does not charge fees for cabin crew recruitment.
Hibu informed that they requested him to take action by registering an FIR and arresting those fraudsters.
“Indigo’s VP and HR have also agreed to share their recruitment plans for the Northeast region to prevent further exploitation,” he added.
The fraudulent advertisement was reportedly circulated on social media forums of educational institutions in Arunachal Pradesh and other northeastern states.
“I have informed SP Ziro to register a case immediately for investigation,” Hibu stated.
“ It’s really sad to see apart from Airhostess recruitment frauds, life of unpredictability of jobs, addiction to alcohol/ substances, thrown out of jobs rampantly, massive retrenchment of these dreamy naive petites girls from mostly remote states of north eastern states’ Lamented Hibu
“Here in Delhi, Helping Hands and Indigo Airlines will provide whatever assistance they need,” Hibu assured.”
