The executive body members of the Pasighat Press Club (PPC), led by its President Maksam Tayeng, met the Deputy Commissioner (DC) at his chamber in the DC office on July 5.
During the meeting, the PPC executives submitted a representation informing the DC about their recent affiliation with the Arunachal Press Club (APC).
The PPC representatives informed the DC that this new affiliation would enhance their capacity to conduct press conferences for both the public and government entities.
Additionally, the representation included a request for the allocation of a spare government or Pasighat Municipal Council (PMC) building to serve as a temporary establishment for the PPC office.
“The Pasighat Press Club will provide the service of conducting press conferences for both the public and the government here in Pasighat. People from the East Siang district and other neighboring districts will no longer need to travel to Itanagar for press conference-related matters. These matters can now be addressed at the Pasighat Press Club, thereby relieving them of the burden of traveling long distances to Itanagar from the central Arunachal region,” the PPC stated in the representation.
Since the PPC and APC don’t have any office infrastructure here, the representation requested the DC to allocate the PPC a spare government building from the District Administration, the Pasighat Municipal Council, or any other department available on a temporary basis until the PPC office infrastructure is allotted or sanctioned.
In response to PPC request , DC assured to look into the representation and discuss it with his officials .
PPC General Secretary Mingkeng Osik, Neha Perin (Asst. Auditor), Aliza Deori (Asst. Treasurer), Anand Borang (Asst. IPR Secy), and Iken Lomi (Asst. Coordinator) were present at the meeting.
