Ruksin Police Solves Bike Theft Case : 1 Habitual Offender Held

Ruksin Police in East Siang District has solved a bike theft case and arrested the suspect after an extensive search operation from Dambuk on July 16.
The alleged accused has been identified as Nong Lego, a resident of Silluk, Mebo Sub Division, East Siang. Nong Lego is a habitual offender with previous involvement in similar cases, Ruksin Police stated in a press release.
Earlier, on July 8, 2024, Ruksin Police received a complaint reporting a missing bike from Bilat, Ruksin Sub-division in East Siang. Accordingly, a case vide Ruksin PS case no. 08/2024 U/S 303(2) BNS was registered.
Further investigation led to the identification of a suspect whom Police were keeping under active surveillance. Later, the police team recovered the stolen bike from Shantipur Village, Tinsukia district, in Assam.
The recovered bike has already been handed over to the owner on July 12 and a manhunt was launched to nab the prime suspect.
On July 16, based on information, a Police team of Ruksin PS led by SDPO, Ruksin Ayup Boko, APPS, OC PS Ruksin SI Igel Lollen, HC L. Ori, HC(D) P. Kakki and Ct. Ram Padung, in coordination with Dambuk PS OC, SI Oding Tagi, arrested the suspect from Dambuk in Lower Dibang Valley.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain his role in other motor vehicle thefts in the area.
In-charge SP East Siang, Pankaj Lamba, IPS has also extended thanks to TMPK President Binod Dao and his team along with Shantipur and Sadiya PS staff for providing cooperation in recovering the stolen vehicle.
He also thanked Dambuk OC and his team for their active cooperation leading to the arrest of the absconding accused.
Meanwhile , SDPO Ruksin, Ayup Boko, has advised all two-wheeler owners to lock their vehicles and take appropriate safety measures to prevent such incidents.
