SCCZ Holds Commencement Ceremony for Class of 2025

Saint Claret College (Autonomous), Ziro (SCCZ) hosted the Commencement Ceremony for the Claretine Class of 2025 with pride and solemnity on Saturday at the college auditorium, celebrating the achievements and aspirations of its graduating students.

Himani Meena, IAS, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Ziro, attended the ceremony as Chief Guest, while Prof. D. Jeevan Kumar graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.

A total of 290 graduating students took part in the ceremony, pledging to uphold the values instilled in them by the institution and to serve society as responsible citizens. 

In her inspiring commencement address,  Meena reflected on her own student journey, acknowledging both struggles and triumphs. She congratulated the parents for supporting their children in achieving their dreams and advised the students to remain grounded to their roots. Quoting lines from Ramdhari Singh Dinkar’s renowned poem Rashmirathi, she encouraged the graduates to forge ahead with courage and conviction.

Addressing the graduating batch, Prof. D. Jeevan Kumar remarked that the students are fortunate to be graduating from an institution like SCCZ, which has carved a reputation for academic excellence in the state and the region. He advised students to remain open to multiple career paths and to develop alternative plans in this dynamic and competitive world.

Vice-Principal of the college, Fr. Arnest Kharmawlong, in his message, congratulated the graduating batch and expressed hope for their continued success in future endeavors.

Mr. Tibom Tekwa from the Department of Geography delivered the valedictorian’s address, offering a heartfelt tribute to the college and his peers. 

A special highlight of the ceremony was the felicitation of 30 students who secured ranks in the Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar (RGU) 2024 Examinations, a moment of pride for the college community.

Furthermore, 81 students were conferred with various scholarships and awards in recognition of academic and co-curricular excellence. These included the SCCZ Residential Scholarship, SCCZ Academic Scholarship, Single Step Foundation Scholarship, Edacheriparambil M. E. Memorial Scholarship, Gigi-Mini Scholarship, Saju-Bindu Scholarship, Fr. Tomy Scholarship, Dani Tabin Yaniya Memorial Award, Smti Habung Pappu Memorial Award, Nirmala Frank Scholarship, and the SCCZ Awards for Outstanding Academic Performance. In total, scholarships worth ₹3,66,000 were distributed during the ceremony.

The college also felicitated contingents of the Arunachal Yuva Samanvay from the college in acknowledgment of their contributions at the state and district level.

Later in the day, a heartfelt Farewell Programme was organized to bid adieu to the outgoing Claretines, marking the conclusion of their memorable journey at SCCZ.
