Labour, Employment, Trade & Commerce and Industries Minister Nyato Dukam on Friday called upon all labour unions, workers’ organizations, and stakeholders across the state to unite for the welfare of the labour and workers’ community.

Addressing an interaction programme organized by the Arunachal Pradesh Trade Union Federation (APTUF) and the Arunachal Pradesh Workers Welfare Society (APWWS) at a city hotel, Dukam emphasized the importance of unity among all worker-related bodies.

“United we stand, divided we fall. It is the need of the hour that we all work together unitedly so that the resolutions and decisions we take are implemented timely, properly, and smoothly with the support of all stakeholders,” the Minister appealed.

Highlighting the crucial role played by labourers and workers in the development of the state, Dukam said, “Labourers and workers are the real builders of our society, and it is important they understand and uphold the dignity of labour.” He assured that he would continue to advocate for the rights and dignity of the worker community in the state.

Congratulating the workers on the recent enhancement of monthly salaries for contingency and casual workers, Dukam said it was a commitment fulfilled under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu. He added that the state government would continue taking welfare measures for the workers, but also urged the labour community to work responsibly and contribute towards the smooth development of Arunachal Pradesh.

The Minister further appealed to all organizations to celebrate International Labour Day on May 1 and Vishwakarma Diwas in September, recognizing the contributions of the working community.

Dukam also assured that any issues concerning the labour and workers’ community should be brought to his attention for prompt discussion and resolution.

The interaction session also saw the participation of APB&OCWWB former Chairman Jalley Sonam, APTUF President Changma Tajo, Secretary General Kenkar Yomcha, Deputy Secretary General Damni Nguri, and AAPWWS Secretary General Taje Digbak among others. The leaders discussed various issues and challenges faced by the labour and worker communities across the state.
